Health & Safety Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2025

At NordPath Logistics, operated by Aionis Ventures Ltd, we take safety seriously. Whether operating a company van or using your own vehicle, we believe every delivery should be completed safely, professionally, and without compromise.

Our goal is simple — to make sure every driver, team member, and customer interaction is safe, respectful, and compliant with UK Health & Safety standards.

1. Our Commitment

NordPath Logistics is committed to:

  • Providing a safe and healthy working environment for all staff, subcontractors, and customers.

  • Maintaining vehicles and equipment in safe, roadworthy condition.

  • Communicating potential risks clearly and ensuring drivers understand safe delivery practices.

  • Meeting our legal duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, and all other applicable UK legislation.

We aim to prevent injury, ill health, and accidents by promoting a culture of awareness, responsibility, and respect.

2. Insurance and Responsibility

NordPath holds appropriate Goods in Transit, Public Liability, and Employer’s Liability insurance to protect against workplace incidents, property damage, and claims.

All subcontracted couriers are required to:

  • Hold valid Business Use Vehicle Insurance (or Hire & Reward cover where applicable).

  • Ensure their vehicle is roadworthy, taxed, and maintained to a safe standard.

  • Comply with all UK road safety and vehicle legislation.

NordPath’s Public Liability and Goods in Transit insurance policies extend coverage to subcontracted couriers while they are undertaking authorised delivery work on behalf of the company.

Proof of vehicle insurance may be requested prior to route allocation and periodically thereafter for compliance.

3. Driver and Courier Safety

All NordPath drivers are expected to:

  • Follow safe driving practices and comply with the UK Highway Code.

  • Use correct manual-handling techniques when lifting or carrying parcels.

  • Report any accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Take regular rest breaks and remain fit and alert to drive at all times.

As part of our commitment to safety and trust, all NordPath drivers undergo a standard DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) background check before commencing work.
This ensures that everyone representing NordPath meets the highest standards of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.

4. Training and Orientation

Although most NordPath drivers operate as independent subcontractors, we believe in shared responsibility for safety.

To support this, we provide:

  • A driver induction and safety briefing, covering manual handling, vehicle loading, and lone-worker awareness.

  • Regular reminders about seasonal risks such as fatigue, heat, and adverse weather.

  • Guidance on welfare, hydration, and professional presentation.

Drivers are expected to familiarise themselves with these materials and to operate in accordance with the standards outlined.

5. Accidents and Reporting

All accidents, near misses, or unsafe situations must be reported to the NordPath coordination team as soon as possible.
Reports are logged, reviewed, and investigated to identify causes and prevent recurrence.

Where necessary, we will cooperate fully with partner companies, insurers, or regulatory authorities during any investigation.

6. Shared Responsibility

Health and safety are shared responsibilities between NordPath, its subcontractors, and partner carriers.

We expect everyone representing the company to:

  • Act with care, respect, and professionalism.

  • Follow all safety protocols issued by NordPath and partner depots.

  • Immediately stop work and report any condition that could cause harm.

By working together, we create a professional delivery environment that prioritises wellbeing, reliability, and care — the foundation of Integrity in Motion.

7. Review and Updates

This policy is reviewed annually or sooner if significant operational or legal changes occur.
The updated version will always be available on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
